iCAD is a platform for African researchers, professionals, policymakers and development actors to reframe Africa’s development agenda through rigorous scholarship, policy engagement and practical action.

Its 2027 focus is Building Africa’s Productive Future: Upskilling, Efficiency and Accountability for Inclusive Development.

Ghana Scholarly Society

GSS is the institutional organisation behind iCAD. The iCAD experience, however, is designed as a distinct conference identity and growing archive.

iCAD 2027 is supported by SOAS, University of London, the British Council, the Ghana High Commission, KGL Group, Jospong Group, Ghana International Bank, the UK–Ghana Chamber of Commerce, the University of Bradford, Anglia Ruskin University, KNUST, the University of Ghana, UCC, Accra Technical University and ExcelPlus Education.

Proceedings & publications

The 2027 materials state that the British Library will publish the conference proceedings, with suitable papers potentially developed further for relevant journals.
